We are thrilled to share exciting news! Our beloved Ponder Lions boy's basketball team is heading to the State Tournament next week! 🎉 The State Semifinal game is scheduled to be played this Thursday, March 7th, and the championship game is scheduled for Saturday, March 9th, should we qualify, in San Antonio. Due to the large number of staff and students that must, and wish to attend, and the shortage of substitute teachers, we will be canceling school on both Thursday, March 7th and Friday, March 8th.
While we celebrate this momentous occasion, we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in making arrangements for child care during these days. We recognize the inconvenience this may cause, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility and support.
To assist families in need, the school will be providing sack breakfasts and lunches on Thursday and Friday, for pick-up . In addition, on Thursday only, we will be providing childcare for parents of elementary aged students at our elementary school. We will not be able to offer childcare for secondary students either day, nor on Friday for any students. Our elementary school administration will send out more information regarding signing up for childcare on Thursday..
Finally, because we have built in time to the calendar, and we have not used bad weather days, we will not need to make up these two days. Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and our school community. Let's cheer on our Ponder Lions as they chase their dreams of a State Championship!
