The Ponder ISD technology department is responsible for maintaining a stable network infrastructure as well as equipment that allows students, employees, and community members access to the various technological resources. These resources include, but are not limited to the following:

  • District website

  • Electronic mail system

  • Local Area Network

  • Wireless LAN

  • Broadband Internet connection

  • Electronic gradebook & attendance system

  • Student information system

  • Human resources/payroll system

  • Food Services cashier accounting system

  • Data desegregation system

  • Teacher evaluation system

  • Managed HVAC system

  • IP surveillance system

  • Door access control system

  • Voice over IP telephone system

  • Numerous educational software packages

  • Classroom audio/video projection systems

  • Document cameras

  • Network printers & copiers

  • H.323 videoconferencing & virtual field trips

  • Numerous electronic textbooks and curriculum resources

Additionally, the technology department is responsible for managing and repairing all computers, printers, and peripherals within the District; training staff on the use of resources and software available to them; updating the District's long range technology plan; completing all required paperwork for the federally funded E-Rate program; and evaluating and implementing new technology initiatives.
