Employment Information

All applications must be completed and submitted online. PISD will not accept application documents not submitted through the online application system.

  1. Official transcripts are needed at the time of hiring. 

  2. The employee must provide a service record from their prior school in a timely manner for payroll to process. 

  3. In order to expedite the new hire process it is very important to complete the required forms in a timely manner and submit the needed records to central office.   Please allow 5-business days to process new hire paperwork.

Substitute Positions - Substitute positions are now managed by ESS.  To apply as a substitute for Ponder ISD, please begin the ESS Application process here.  Questions regarding the ESS application process should be directed via Email.

Service Records Requests:

Copies of your employee records listed below can be electronically requested by clicking on the link below. Please allow seven business days for the request to be processed. During our peak season (March-Aug) requests take approximately 15-20 business days. 

Employees resigning and requesting current year service records should be advised that the service record will not be available until mid to late July when the district’s payroll department has completed final processing for the current year.

    To apply:

     

    ·      Applicant completes Ponder ISD Clinical Teacher, Intern, or Student Observation Application (insert application link, application attached) including the Background check authorization.

    ·      All prospective student teachers seeking placement are required to work with their program supervisor to complete and submit the application.

    ·      Once complete, the program representative will review, sign, and submit the application to the Ponder ISD Human Resources on the student’s behalf.  (Please designate a contact person on the form.)

    ·      Submit signed applications to HumanResources@ponderisd.net

  • NOTE:

    • You are welcome to include requests for specific placements (teacher, campus, grade level).  We will do our best to accommodate these requests, but placement cannot be guaranteed.

    • Alternative Certification programs, including online programs, must provide a local supervisor (we do not provide these).

The process:

  • Complete the Application

    • Please print when possible and verify accuracy of information

  • Submit a copy of current DL for background check purposes 

    • Driver’s license must be current (not expired).

    • Requests cannot be processed without these documents.

  • Human Resources will notify applicant of placement and start date confirmed.

Things to know about background checks:

  • To ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, Ponder ISD requires a background check every year.

  • Background checks are required for all volunteers, student teachers, observers, private lesson instructors, district employees, etc.
